Merdiye Maviş was born on September 3, 1992. After graduating from Turkish Maarif College in 2010, she completed her undergraduate studies in biochemistry at the University of Bath in 2014. Between 2014 and 2015, she completed her master's degree in cancer at University College London. In 2015, she began working as a research assistant in the Department of Medical Genetics at the Faculty of Medicine and the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Near East University. She completed her PhD in Medical Biology and Genetics at Near East University in 2023 and currently works as a faculty member in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Near East University. Her research interests include cancer and stem cell biology.
